Art in Motion | Doukas School Art Students Explore Athens through Creativity and Culture

The Doukas School BTEC Foundation in Art, Design & Media Practice students along with the IB Visual Art & A-Level Art students, took part in the annual Athens walk, an inspiring day dedicated to exploring art and culture in the heart of the city.

As part of their visit, the students experienced Michael Rakowitz’s “Allspice” & “Ancient Cultures” at the Acropolis Museum, where contemporary perspectives intertwined with the ancient world. They continued their journey to the Museum of Cycladic Art to view Marlene Dumas’ “Cycladic Blues”, an evocative exhibition that bridged modern emotion and timeless form.

The walk offered students a unique opportunity to engage directly with both historical and contemporary artistic dialogues, enriching their creative practice and broadening their understanding of art’s enduring relevance.
