We are 4 students of the 3rd class of junior high school (15 years old) at Doukas School, in Athens, Greece. Last year we organized an action at which students from the 2nd \u202fclass of junior high school were participating. Our purpose was to inform students and parents about the essential role of water. The aim of this activity was to collect money in order to make a donation to Action Aid, so they will be able to make a pipeline water in a village in Ethiopia. Our final goal is to reach the amount of 1500\u20ac so that Action Aid could have the ability and the financial capacity to help these people that are suffering from water depletion.<\/i> <\/p>\n
In order to achieve our purpose we decided to produce environmentally-friendly soaps. We use the laboratory of our school and the advice of the teacher of chemistry. For the creation of the soaps we had to collect a big amount of fried olive oil. All the students of our school and our teachers contributed to recycle olive oil in order to produce our environmentally-friendly soaps. Finally, we sold the soaps at the most important school event, called \u201cGeneration D\u201d, where many people come to our school to attend the event each year. For this action we made many leaflets, which contained a lot of information about the role of water and our activity. \u202fWe managed to collect 750\u20ac from the above action!<\/i> <\/p>\n
But we need 750\u20ac more! That\u2019s why we continue the production of soaps. We have already started since a period of two months is necessary in order the soaps become ready for sale.<\/i> <\/p>\n
To sum up, we managed to motivate people from all the ages to be more responsible as far as the recycling of fried olive oil and the waste of water are concerned.\u202f<\/i> <\/p>\n
